Wrestling Legends of the 21st Century
Steel Domain Wrestling (SDW) is the longest running professional wrestling promotion in Minnesota. Second only to Verne Gagne's legendary American Wrestling Association (AWA). SDW's first event was held at the West St. Paul Armory on January 17, 1998, under the name “St. Paul Championship Wrestling”. In 2001, the name was officially changed to “Steel Domain Wrestling.” SDW “Ringside,” and had a four-year run on KSTC TV-45 in the Twin Cities from October, 2001 through October, 2005. "Ringside" was the first locally produced wrestling program on broadcast television in the Twin Cities market since the glory days of the AWA.
Currently, SDW produces Championship Wrestling from the Twin Cities, a monthly event from the Foundry (the American Legion in Richfield, MN). The old school, studio-style programming with exciting matches, interviews, action is delivered through Steel Domain Wrestling TV on YouTube. SDW also produces the tremendously popular, weekly podcast "Steel Radio", hosted by award-winning commentator and “Voice of Minnesota Wrestling,” “Slick” Mick Karch. Mick is joined by SDW owner Ed Hellier (The Achitect) and "The Golden Idol" Mark Koval. Each week features a special guest from the wrestling world, “Fan of the Week,” trivia contests and much more.
Steel Domain Wrestling has been the breeding ground for some of the greatest talent in the world of professional wrestling including C.M. Punk, “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce, Colt Cabana, Austin Aries, Ken Anderson, Ace Steel, Shawn Daivari and many others. It is easy to see why SDW is truly revered among the wrestling fraternity and its fan base.
